The prize is a 1947 Cessna 120. It only has 105 hours since major overhaul. Fully restored in 1998, every square inch of this aircraft was upgraded, rebuilt or refreshed. During the restoration all control cables, trim cables and chains were replaced. All new electrical wiring including an alternator was installed. Some of the upgrades include circuit breakers on all primary breakers. The upgraded seats are new and more comfortable than the original. The improved exhaust system is much quieter. The new Clevland wheels and brakes make for an improved landing. To wrap up the restoration new skins by Superflite Products and Whelen wingtip strobes. In 1999 it received the Best of Class award at AirVenture in Oshkosh.

The Cessna 120 was built as an economical two seated aircraft following WWII, with the intended market of the airmen coming home from the war. It features an aluminum fuselage, a Rolls Royce O-200 engine and a Sensenich Propeller. It was the last Cessna model built with a fabric covered wing. Over 8,000 Cessna 120s were built with a little more than 2.500 still flying today. The Cessna 120 was one of the most popular postwar light aircraft built.
